【摘要】:Certainelementspresentinwater-formeddepositsareidentified.Concentrationlevelsoftheelementsareestimated.Depositanalysisassistsinprovidingproperwaterconditioning.Depositsformedfromorbywaterinallitsphasesmaybefurtherclassifiedasscale,sludge,corrosionproducts,orbiologicaldeposits.Theoverallcompositionofadepositorsomepartofadepositmaybedeterminedbychemicalorspectrographicanalysis;theconstituentsactuallypresentaschemicalsubstancesmaybeidentifiedbymicroscopeorX-raydiffractionstudies.Organismsmaybeidentifiedbymicroscopicalorbiologicalmethods.1.1ThispracticecoversX-rayspectrochemicalanalysisofwater-formeddeposits.1.2Thepracticeisapplicabletothedeterminationofelementsofatomicnumber11orhigherthatarepresentinsignificantquantityinthesample(usuallyabove0.1%).1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
